"Together for always
And never apart
Maybe for distance
But never in heart...
Side by side or miles apart but friends are together if my by heart....
The best way to cheer yourself is try to
Cheer somebody else up...
Cheer somebody else up...
I caught the happiness virus last night
When I was singing beneath the stars
With my friends ...."
When I was singing beneath the stars
With my friends ...."
In fact, the happiness virus caught all of us when we started planning for our reunion to commemorate our 25th year of togetherness...
There needs to be a sparkle to ignite the passion...the sparkle was in fact our seniors get together in Pondicherry last year...their group photo posted by CK taken from Facebook was in fact a nidus around which a strong trunk built by Nathan, suresh,Karthi, jay and Buddhan grew to soaring heights ,watered and maintained by all and sundry....
During the power point presentation, orchestrated by nathan ,presented by our versatile Shankar, talismanic jay and audacious Karthi, thanked everyone except a word mentioned about our seniors...perhaps we have had our skirmishes, fights and and worst nightmares with our seniors..but somehow they played a role in our career and also in this batch meet..i thank them also on behalf of GMKMC. 91...
Improving upon the erstwhile performance is the main thing which propels and shoots everyone to achieve dizzy heights..they say records are meant to be broken. And so do the events.. We want to improve upon last year's get together by our seniors and want to stamp our authority as the best batch and of course we did it in a nonchalant manner, thanks to the main organisers Nathan and suresh... And coming batches would go even higher, getting the needed clues from our trip...and there comes a healthy competition to achieve more ....
When the idea was conceived and construed one year back, the main point of contention was the venue ..Each one of us had different ideas and different venues...when yercaud was suggested ,there was a bit of commotion... Why the same yercaud? Why can't we plan in some other new place...
As with the selection of venue for the Olympics, certain things would help a venue win over the rest of the competitors.... Like wise, yercaud was chosen primarily for two reasons by the organising committee....Expecting Maximum number of participants and close proximity to our college, which would enable us to have a small chat in our college...And everyone agreed for yercaud...
Next is the selection of the dates...Another huge task for the organising committee since they have to adjust for whims and fancies of every member..For the dates, the main goal was to accommodate our overseas members ..Murali &thilaga,Uma and Vijayalakshmi....their nodding of the head for the participation itself was a huge fillip for the organising committee....One sore point was that Hindi exams fell on the day of our celebrations... February second Sunday and August second Sunday have been the regular dates for years ...If not for the Hindi exams, more kids like dhanya would have adorned the glittering stage and kept us more busy...I request the organising comittee to skip those two dates for the future get together....
Next important point is to make more friends enroll for the batch meet.. There are certain people who would make it to this event whoever, wherever, how ever,organised....for them, getting together is more important than anything...and then comes, the next group, who would be reluctant initially, but chronic persuasion and frequent calls would make them to consider...and the final group would only show their back to the calls we make and are destined and determined not to make it to the event...
This time, the organisers were fortunate to bring new members to this trip and we are all thankful to them for their sustained efforts...we expect more of our members, who sidelined themselves,to join the mainstream at least from now...Radha .Ramesh,RATHINAVEL,Rajaram, pushpalatha ,bhuveneswari and akilambal all added glitter to this decorated event and we pray for their active involvement in all the coming gettogethers...
Next is the selection of the venue ..The Venue should be cheap, easily accessible, needs seven star accommation at three star prices, food must be extraordinary,.separate halls for playing,performing,chatting,dining...
Boozing..and also need a world class swimming pool at a much discounted prices... Requisites are huge and mammoth and are discerning a lot,but the organisers stood up to the task in getting all at a deadly cheap rate.....
The organisers, suresh, karthi,Senthil and Jayendran efforts in frequenting yercaud for a location to appease everyone did not go in vain...They struck a right chord in selecting Living arts resorts at a phenomenally discounted price ..
The resort was fantastic..no words to describe its exotic and lavish look...each room was a separate villa which was neatly maintained ...ample space around each villas to stroll ...plenty of open spaces to sit and rejoice, relax and take photos...and the entire ambience was simply breathtaking...The swimming pool and indoor games lobby was another fantastic point which scored highest point among kids and adults....Dining Hall was very good...but there was bit suffocation and perspiration in the auditorium... I thank the organisers on behalf of all for selecting such a wonderful venue..
Meeting in college was a memorable one. After a small rendezvous with friends in the lecture Hall, with loads of fun and frolic, few snaps around the college, and morning snack, the trip was tracked to living art...After a tiring journey, we were greeted with a nice reception by the hotel management...Food was served hot and spicy right at the moment...we were given a grand treat by Karthi and co before moving for lunch....food was delicious all through the day and there was no hiccups...Served right there once the item seemed finished and excellent catering...
After a sumptuous meal and cosy lunges in the verdant greeny lawn,we all headed for a well organised and calculated photo session...blue jean and gray top for boys and blue sarees for ladies were a masterclass, thanks to suresh for his selection of colours after much deliberation and discussion among us, by which ,we could not arrive at a conclusion....
The night session was far far better with kids and ladies having a gala time and men,as usual had a dizzy time with the evening rain and its accompanying pristine weather added to a terrific atmosphere..Murali and karthi,as usual, were very magnanimous in taking care of all the drenched and dried souls with a fine collection of scotch...
The power point presentation by jay ,Karthi and Shankar was a great addition to the already illustrious work spearheaded by senthil and suresh...Recounting every moment of our journey from ponni super market to living art with classic description of events was indeed thrilling and lively...the comments by Chinns and others were taken in a lighter vein
The gifts by Viji,Venki ,and Thenmozhi were a bit surprise but well received....it gave us a feeling that we missed out on this august occasion to show our gratitude to our wonderful friends with memorable souvenirs who have become part and parcel of our life...
Finally the souvenir at the twenty five year was yet another surprise...great work by Buddhan and Nathan....Nathans description of each and every person was fabulous...Added to this is Buddhan's handiwork which stamped his class on the souvenir...
Each meet is getting better and better...starting with yercaud, then cherai resorts, elephant caves, then coco lagoon..now the ultimate is living art...thanks once again. for the organisers...we feel at ease with every trip...our kids and spouse are getting nicely tuned up to the occasion...and they enjoy more than us...
A testimony to that is "lovely ladies"WA group where all the ladies, friends and spouses, discussed about the trip and dressing code in a very lively and fruitful manner..I wish this bonhomie among all our family members to go far and far beyond the golden jubilee celebrations...
Finally a word of praise for the husbands of our ladies who made it and enjoyed...as Uma husband who came all the way from London..and we sincerely thank Viji,,Uma and Murali and thilaga for making this event a grand success...
I hope murali would do a much better job in vision euro 2018...
I earnestly request everyone of our friends to earmark a small amount from now onwards every month for our proposed eurotrip in 2018....just like investing a small amount in SIP in mutual fund .or like investing in gold.Invest a small amount regularly for the overseas trip ..and the sum would be sufficient to take care of our dream tour in 2018...

Memories last forever, never do they die
Best friends stick together
And never say goodbye....
And never say goodbye....
